Glass Trout is a small enterprise set up to support
my fly fishing habit. Each Trout I make is individually cut
from special glass and has various colors of powdered glass
added to their shape. All are made from 100% glass. To fuse
the glass together it is fired in a glass kiln for up to 15
hours at up to 1,450 degrees. No two are ever alike: each
is handcrafted and unique. All are signed and numbered and
of limited production. At this time I am researching more
species of Trout to produce: each requires multiple
drawings and patterns and color experiments before it
passes my stamp of approval.
I learned this art from an ancient Egyptian while fly
fishing for Trout on the Nile River. He was reluctant to
divulge the skills his ancestors had guarded for 3000
years, but with superior Irish Whiskey and some cash he
broke down. In addition he showed me how to catch Nile
River Trout (carp) on a fly.
